Open Space Seattle 2100
Seattle, WA
In February 2006, more than 300 citizens collaborated in the Green Futures Charrette, creating a 100-year vision for Seattle’s open space network. Co-led by MxM’s Brice Maryman and UW Professor Nancy Rottle, a coalition of government, non-profit, and citizen groups helped to develop goals, open space principles, and future scenarios that guided 23 charrette teams. These teams envisioned livable, ecologically healthy, and socially robust urban watersheds and neighborhoods. The information from this ASLA award-winning process has been compiled into a companion “Green Futures Toolkit.”
